The medicine that Vulture has for us in the Receive Module is that there’s an abundance of resources out there.
Vulture doesn’t kill.
Vulture scavenges.
Vulture soars for hours on thermals, conserving its energy, and using its powerful eyesight and sense of smell to find its nourishment, its opportunities.
Nothing is wasted. It receives fully without wasting a single morsel.
I know we’ve visited all of these themes separately in the other modules.
But it’s important now to bring it all together and see how each piece plays its critical role.
And since we’ve landed at the head, the crown, I do want to take a moment to chat about Vulture’s head.
The number one reason that people think Vultures aren’t beautiful is its naked head. The bright red, featherless head is the Vulture’s identifying factor. We can’t usually see it when Vulture is soaring above us, and we think it’s beautiful—until it comes closer and we see the bald head.
But why is Vulture’s head bare? Why are there no feathers or crowns like other birds have?
Because the head of the Vulture is utilitarian first. Not ornamental, like how other birds have ornaments on their heads.
Their heads are bare so that they can bury them deeply into rotting flesh and get their food. Since there are no feathers, the bacteria cannot populate and fester.
There will be “unsexy” parts of your business that are simply utilitarian. But that doesn’t mean that, as a whole, it isn’t beautiful.
There will be tasks that you may not enjoy looking at, focusing on, or sitting down with.
But the unsexy parts are necessary, so that dis-ease cannot populate and fester in our businesses.
Respect the entire whole. See the integral role that all the pieces play. All of these pieces, put together, are what allows you to expand and be fully nourished and supported as a woman business owner.
